Valves for different applications in chemical industry

Valves for petrochemical applications
Today’s petrochemical producers face ever-increasing regulatory, environmental and performance demands. Now, more than ever, you need more than just a valve supplier. You need a reliability partner who offers deep application knowledge with a complete offering of technologies, customer support and services.

Ethylene and propylene processing
Steam cracking plants, which produce ethylene, are divided into three sections which together represent a very demanding environment. Propane dehydrogenation uses propane to produce high-quality propylene. Our valves offer the highest reliability throughout every step of the demanding process.

Polyolefins and polymers processing
Polyolefin technologies include gas-phase, slurry, high-pressure, mixed-phase, and solution processes. Our valves have been developed to operate in extreme conditions, dealing with an abrasive flow media at very demanding cycling requirements.

Valves for chlorine service
Chlorine service is notoriously challenging. It’s highly reactive as a liquid or gas and can easily go from a revenue generator to personal or environmental catastrophe if extreme precautions are not taken. Chlorine applications are not for the inexperienced or unproven.

Neles™ Q-Disc™ flow balancing trim for butterfly valves
WHITEPAPER | Neles™ Q-Disc™ flow balancing trim designed to address dynamic torque-related challenges in butterfly valve applications is unique in its design and performance. The perforated trim plate is seamlessly integrated with the disc, making it durable, efficient and easy to incorporate into your valve assembly.

Validated processes and competency enable long-term, safe operation of oxygen service valves
Oxygen service valves operate in one of the process industry’s most hazardous environments. Oxygen is not flammable but supports and accelerates combustion. This means that oxygen service valves need to be designed, manufactured, tested and maintained to prevent this by mitigating the ignition source and contact with fuel. This article focuses mainly on cleaning, inspection methods and guidance on packaging, storage, installation, operation, and maintenance.

LNG processing and intelligent valves for a demanding service
The demand for natural gas is increasing globally due to its clean-burning characteristics, which is especially true for producing electricity and many industries are looking into LNG as an alternative, cleaner source of energy. For LNG producers the difference between running safe, profitable plants often comes down to choosing flow control partners with the experience and knowledge to get the job done right.

The diverse role valves play in the chemical industry
The chemical industry is extremely diverse with more than 60,000 known products. Chemicals are typically split into basic categories including petrochemicals, agrochemicals, specialty chemicals, pharmaceuticals and bio-chemicals, and consumer products. Like all process industries, the chemical industry needs valves designed for safe, efficient and reliable process operation.

Q-disc™ – Born to perform under pressure
Valmet’s Neles™ Q-disc™ flow balancing trim is all about reducing noise and taking off some of the pressure directed onto the disc and shaft of a butterfly valve. It is able to do both things with great efficiency and reliability thanks to unique features such as the perforated design and fixed integration onto the disc.
