Celebrating 65 years of flow control experience
Did you know Neles’ roots date back to March 2, 1956, when the Finnish Antti Nelimarkka and Eino Santasalo registered their company, Neles Oy, specializing in industrial valves in the Finnish Trade Register? This year we are not only celebrating our first independent year after a partial demerger, but also our 65th anniversary.
Reliability at the core
Today, Neles is a global leader in flow control solutions and services. Over the years, our portfolio has evolved from valves to also include various expert services, such as maintenance and shutdown services, and intelligent valve controller solutions, like the Neles™ NDX.
We offer the process industries a full flow control package: a comprehensive scope of products, all featuring superb tightness, safety, and operational reliability. Our valve properties have been designed to meet even the most stringent industry standards and requirements. We are especially known as a supplier of flow control solutions for truly demanding processes and applications.
At present, our global team consists of nearly 3000 experts who work in about 40 different countries. At our valve technology centers, we manufacture about 500,000 high-quality valves for our customers every year.

Celebrating 65 years of flow control
After 65 years of offering equipment and services that help customers to improve their process performance and ensure the safe flow of materials, Neles is recognized as a leader in valve control solutions. As a global company, its experience with components such as valves, actuators, digital controls, and switches, has earned it a reputation as the go to source for many process industries including pulp, paper and bioproducts, chemical and petrochemical, industrial gas, mining & metals, energy and hydrocarbon, to name a few.

Building on this foundation of knowledge, expertise and insights, the company is ready for the 21st century with exciting developments in renewable energies and more mature sectors such as oil and gas. One telling example is the revamped butterfly valve range that Neles recently introduced.

The first-ever valve with 3D printed valve body for field testing

History of the Neles Q-Trim technology
One of our best-known flow control brands, Q-BALL™, has its roots in 1978 when a French “valve expert” Roger Bey presented his low noise and anti-cavitation solution developed for the ball valve to Antti Nelimarkka, the founder of Neles company (now Valmet's flow control business line). Q-BALL was the very first brand in famous Q-Trim™ technology aiming to reduce noise in control valves.
